- Have a to do list and properly schedule them according to the convenience of you and your household. Most of the major moving tasks such as packing and storing are done on weekends where all the members of the family can help.
- Once you scheduled your packing hours, make sure that you will give this job a plenty of time. This will need the help of your family or you can also ask from your neighbors and friends for extra help from them to finish the packing soon.
- Before you pack, consider the things that you will need and will not need. You can decide to make a garage sale to make money on saleable items to add them on your moving expenses. If the idea sounds more tiring, you can just separate them anyway and ask your neighborhood to get the stuffs you won’t need in your new residence.
- Before you start contacting your moving company, you need furnish your house with sufficient load of moving packing supplies to help you get packed for the move. It includes the moving boxes and specialty boxes, packing tapes, labeling pens, bubble wraps and cushions, packing wraps, tape dispenser, and box cutter and scissors. Make sure you have plenty of moving packing supplies so you don’t need to waste your time and energy by going back to the supply store again.
- If you decided to hire a moving company, you will need to choose one carefully. Give yourself at least one week allowance to prepare everything before the exact moving date. It is ideal to shop around and compare so you can save money in hiring your desired moving company without compromising the services.
- Inform your friends, relatives, and other important people who need to know your address. You will also need to inform your employer about the change of your address.
- Make sure that all of you are free from other tiring activities a day before the move.
