The first option I looked into was to tow my car behind the moving truck I had rented. They make a special trailer that you can drive your car onto and it locks in to the front wheels. The back wheels just drag on the ground, but are freely spinning. This option was kind of good , but my problem is that I didn’t feel comfortable driving that huge truck and then to add a trailer/car behind made me feel really nervous, so I didn’t end up using that option.

     Another option that my friend told me about was to hang a flyer at a local coffee shop or place where college kids hang out and see if any body was interested in getting paid  to drive your car back to their home when they go on vacation. This seemed crazy to me. If the kids are anything like I was in college there is no way I’m giving them my car. None the less this seems like a pretty popular option for people in my situation.

     Finally another friend told me about some companies that do Cheap Auto Shipping. I just called them and they gave me some Auto Shipping Quotes and they seemed really reasonable. This seemed like the safest and smartest option. First they are covered by insurance so if anything happens it will be okay. Second they do this for a living so they are used to driving different peoples cars and won’t trash out your car like some college kid.  So for anyone who like me is in the middle of a stressful move I would suggest just letting one of these companies take care of taking your car for you it will save you a lot of hassle and the prices aren’t so bad either.
